Rink Review - Az Ice Gilbert

az ice gilbert, formerly polar ice gilbert, was purchased by AZ ice, owner of the Arcadia ice arena in phoenix, in 2014.
when this rink was still polar ice gilbert, we spent many hours here for hockey practice as well as games. the ice was always iffy, and it used to amaze me that i could stand along the boards, look down at the ice, and see the coils and apparatus under the ice.
the purchase of this rink by the new owners was completed in May of 2014. the goal, say the new owners, is to turn this rink, in addition to the arcadia rink and the former polar ice peoria (also purchased by this group) into elite trianing centers and to establish a strong youth hockey program.
The facility has had multiple upgrades, including lights and compressor, as well as a paint job and a revamp of the facility cafe. we have not yet visited this rink since the ownership change, but intend to check it out soon.
